I was a classmate from about 4th or 5th grade at Sauk Trail Elememtary. I left Park Forest after our sophomore year when my father was transferred to the home office of his company in Ohio.
After graduating from Kent State University in 1973 (interrupted by a four year stint in the service, and two tours in Vietnam), I started my law enforcement career with the Arlington County, VA, Police Department. After retiring in 1996 I was with two other departments for a total of 40 years in police work.
Now fully retired, my wife and I enjoy traveling in our camper and spending time with family. Our first grandchild was just born in August.

I enjoyed the time we lived in Park Forest, and my two years at Rich. We lived on Hemlock St. and I remember there were so many kids in the neighborhood. It was very difficult having to leave in the middle of high school, but I regret most not being able to keep up with my many friends. Craig Thompson was one of my best friends, and we stayed close for a time. But work, school, and family finally won out. I was sorry to hear of his passing.
